Averica Discovery Services, a fast-growing contract research organization (CRO), seeks a Business Development specialist to plan, direct, and execute all aspects of the organization's sales policies, objectives, & initiatives.

Averica Discovery Services is a specialty CRO focused on solving challenging analysis and purification problems for the drug discovery industry.  We are located in Worcester, MA in proximity to nearly 100 undeveloped potential clients.

We are looking for an individual with a strong sales track record in research instrumentation or pharmaceutical services with an interest in working with a small and successful team.  The ideal candidate is an independent and  entrepreneurial individual who can contribute operationally as well as strategically to Averica’s future.

Responsibilities include:

• develop sales policies, practices, and programs
• evaluate & adapt organization's marketing strategy to changes in the marketing environment
• help develop marketing programs/materials such as advertising, event policies, & recommend appropriate sales channels
• track and refine successful sales and marketing approaches
• planning for continued business expansion

A bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline, a knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, and a minimum of 3 years sales experience are required.  Ideal candidates will possess the ability to plan and accomplish set goals resulting in accelerating business growth for the company.  Averica Discovery is a client-driven, top-tier service organization: familiarity with the industry customer and excellent organizational and communications skills are required.

The position currently is part-time, and compensation will be tied to performance. However, there is a significant future forward opportunity for an entrepreneurial candidate to develop his/her role and strategic position within the company.
