Responsibilities:

Averica Discovery Services, a fast-growing contract research organization (CRO), seeks a seeks a motivated individual interested in working in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced laboratory workplace with a creative and success-driven team.

Averica Discovery Services is a specialty CRO focused on solving challenging analysis and purification problems for the drug discovery industry.  We are located in Worcester, MA in proximity to hundreds of potential clients.

The Staff Scientist will participate in all aspects of the Company’s laboratory programs, including client projects and independent research.  The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to work efficiently and independently, will keep excellent records and be an effective oral and written communicator, and will have an affinity for complex scientific instruments.   The analytical techniques will include chromatography, both HPLC and Supercritical Fluid Chromatography, and NMR and mass spectrometry.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in the field of biological sciences, chemistry or biochemistry.

Experience: One to two years of laboratory experience in biotechnology or the biopharmaceutical/pharmaceutical industry.

Other requirements: The candidate must possess good communication and writing skills. The candidate must also be familiar with standard MS Office software and typical HPLC data systems.
