The Massachusetts Office of Technical Assistance and Technology* (OTA) is celebrating 25 years of Toxic Use Reduction, and Averica connected to share our story. Averica was founded in 2007 with Supercritical Fluid Chromatography (SFC) as the core instrument platform. In addition to being 10-20 times faster, SFC uses CO2 in the place of more hazardous solvent and reduces toxins by 80-90% when compared with conventional chromatography. Our inherent commitment, from establishment onward, to a green technology inspired the case study.
*As a division of the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs, OTA provides a host of non-regulatory, strictly confidential services that have helped more than 1,400 Massachusetts facilities use less toxic processes and boost their economic performance. OTA has been instrumental in reducing the use of millions of pounds of toxic chemicals and saving companies millions of dollars in operating costs.
